hi johan you get the 12 inches 2 sections and 2 end pieces. the reails are separate. instead of laying my own i wanted to see how the plastic would look. in the first pic the kit track is at the top and my laid track is below with diesel locomotiive. second pic has the hobbyboss BR-52 on the back. as for the silly putty usual first time stuff. after rolling it between my hands it stuck well for the pattern. i used tape for covering the rest. i rushed it and didn't burnish the edges just like you do with tape and my paint was too thin and i had some edges when i removed the silly putty. i removed it as soon as the paint was tacky, which means for acrylics right after i cleaned the airbrush. biggest problem i had was the silly putty from the front sticking to the cam when i pushed them together to match the patterns. because of the windows i painted thge 2 parts separately.

Hi waynec,

That looks Very Good and quite an interesting subject as well.

Did you have any problems using the Silly Putty?

I was actually looking at this one at the LHS today and was really tempted - how much rail do you get in the kit?

Very Best Regards

Johan

thanks all. hobbyboss just issued the 1/72 BR-86 2-8-2 tank (not armored) engine which i will get as soon as it becomes available in the states. and i may do another BR-52 since i learned so much doing the first one. andDORA and the 1/35s are looming in the background. sounds like it's time for me to do my first GB on railroads but not until after nationals in august.

That's cool, waynec. Love the finish. I would've stuck an AA gun on the roof myself .......

Bill.

On the bench:  Lindberg 1/32 scale 1934 Ford Coupe and a few rescue projects.

In queue:  Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor or a scratch build project.

woohoo another choochoo. hobbyboss just announced the 1/72 BR-86 locomotive.

this is done. all colors are MMA, the bottom is engine gray and the top is panzer gray and panzer redbrown. my first camo using silly putty masking with so so results but good lessons learned. this locomotive is based at the rr gun training center on the baltic sea inside germany (as the 12s were never stationed outside the country) hence the camo pattern. i lost one of the rear brackets so just added a couple of handles instead. weathering was done with tamiya powders.

railbed is from the kit but i think my homemade ones look better.

      and just goofing a bit
