Now that is something else. Exceptional work all round, and the interior is just amazing.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Absolutely great outcome Carl, one to be proud of.

Is the fighting compartment removable ? Be a shame to cover that inside up.

Jean-Michel good to hear from you my fiend !Wink

Finished this one yesterday . It was a fun build and the old Tamiya kit has a good fit and a descent interior for the age of the kit .Tamiya paints were used for the exterior .Extra RW 61 rounds were contributed by our friend Tony Lee .

I applied the two Balkenreuz decals and over spayed with Future . It took 3 applications of Solvaset tp get the decals snuggled down into the zimm .

Eric , I'm not really going that fast my friend . Thanks .

Karl , ambush for sure .It'll be the dash type , not the dots . Morris code ?

Garzon , I like airbrushing the camo free hand . I'm using Tamiya acrylics with Tamiya thinner . I found that for spraying camo patterns I have to turn the psi up around 25 for acrylics and down around 15 with enamels .The paint thinned at least 50% for acrylics and 30% for enamels . Keep the airbrush moving across the surface to avoid puddling the paint . To avoid splatter on the model I start the airbrush spray off the model and finish the stroke off the model . When the needle tip gets clogged I clean it with a brush dipped in lacquer thinner .HTH.

Eric Eric thanks .

Steve thanks old friend 1 Good seeing you post here !!! And LOL but NO wings !!!

AH Carl

Its always informative and a pleasure to see you work so seemingly  effortlessly .

The detail work on the interior is inspiring and of a very high caliber (get it? gun- caliber?. )

My favorite is the "leg irons" in the last picture, the paint chips, rust,

scratches and all =

.

.

.

There is one small point, if I may. Please don't take offence, I'm sure it just my own hang up, but

Where are the wings goin' to go  on this thing?

  Thanks I needed that

Steve

Shellback

Airbrushed the camo today .I used Tamiya paints .I use a stiff brush and rub off the over spray which causes the shine .

Interior looks perfect!, greasy and dirty.

What technic you used for the cammo?. hand free, silly putty, tape, etc...

Im about to embark in my firts cammo painting and would like to obtain this type of results.

Yeah, that looks great, Carl---"rub off the overspray"? Cool! I didn't know you could do that---great idea! It will probably serve me well in painting the MERDC scheme on the M110!

Are you going to do an ambush scheme here, or just 3-color?

Carl, you're just flying thru this bad-boy. I was looking at the zimmerit on my italeri Sturmtiger, and it has zimmerit on the lower front hull as well as the rear. Did your zim come with those?

Wow, that last photo is especially stunning work. Weathering is really what separates the men from the boys.

My heart leapt with joy when I saw these photos, Carl---that interior looks perfect now. However you got the white tint, it worked perfectly. Exactly what I would have wanted in my own model. Your scratching and chipping looks expertly rendered as well. YesYesBow Down

Ok , here's where the interior is now .I used artist oils and some chalks plus pigments . Also I used these two brushes dipped in dark gray to make the multitude of scratches .

Here's the panel for the engine gauges .

The interior . This pose is a possibility for display .

More interior .

Ktkrow

Wow! I agree with all, AMAZING interior. But I'm actually posting for some advice...

I'm recently returning to modeling and am learning a lot by reading forums and watching videos on YouTube from others. That being said...

I've started a build on a Dragon 1/35 M1A1 AIM. Super fun and detailed kit.

It's my first kit w/ pe parts, and the more I read/researched, I decided to go all out with additional pe parts and interior resin kits for all the crew stations and the engine kit (I crewed 1 in real life and wanted to put in everything I remember inside and out).

Now the question!

With all that detailed work you are doing INSIDE, how do you intend to display it. If you button t up, it would never be seen I imagine.  Do you plan to leave some of the exterior removable? What is your plan? What advice can you give me? I've been toying with the idea of leaving the tops unglued, perhaps, but am still searching for ideas.

Kitrow  first I much appreciate your comments ! thanks you for taking the time .

As far as showing off the interior I am going to leave the casement unattached to the hull . The fit is very good .

As far as your M1 and without knowing very much about that kits assembly make up I think it would be a good idea to leave the top of the turret unattached .

Thanks for your service . You must have many experiences from crewing one of the best tanks in the world !
