I've got a few of these Eastern European armor kits like the T-37A and T-38 light tanks. Generally of the same quality, a little better in some areas though. Many of these companies rebox one another's kits so often if you see two similar kits by different manufacturers, they are often the same kit.

Ok... After reading those blogs, the posts here and on another forum where I asked this question, I think I'll pass over this kit... Even though I've really wanted to build an artillery piece for a while.

I should also point out that I could probably find a straight section of sprue from a Tamiya or Italeri kit that would make a better gun barrel than the one in my kit.

You don't know how much I'd like that. But unfortunately, it is me who must give him the $5.

Turn around and run away.

Seriously, it is a very rough model. I have the Toga boxing of it. It's made in Moldova, a former Soviet state. I have the Part photo etch set (#P35-009) and Model Point brass barrel with aluminum muzzle brake (#3529, an extremely nice set) and still do not think it is worth the effort. I know Model Point also did a very nice turned brass set of return rollers (#3550) for the kit that I am glad I didn't spend the extra money on because the overall project isn't worth it.

The model isn't worth $5, the aftermarket stuff is worth $50.

What do I need to know about the AER Eastern Express ASU-57 SPG? What is the quality like? How well does it build? I'm thinking of buying this kit but I need to know more about it before I do.
