Yes, I did it really two decades ago :-) But it isn't scratch buildt, it was a resin-kit produced by airmodel / Frank-Modellbau located Albstadt / Germany, part of assembly instruction www.facebook.com
Model ManiacCamo is a good idea, waynec! But without camo pattern or painting guide it will not be easy. Sworn off building? You may use the mean time 2 months acquiring & stockpiling new kits instead.

well if there isn't a guide who can say if is correct or not. i will do what i do with towed guns; what theater and season is it, where will i likely be deployed, and if it was my gun how would i paint it.
you misunderstand. i said i wasn't STARTING any new kits for 2 months. i have 5 subs, VOSPER, LCVP, DANA, chinese treasure ship, 1/350 DD and 2 helicopters to finish.

Oops I missed this one!! Art Instructor deserves commendation for an excellent build of a highly unusual vehicle! Great weathering on that monotone paint job! I love it!

hey MM - i can't think of a reason not to do a cool camo and i would camo the insdie of the side and rear "shields since they are visible when in operation. mine just came today but i have sworn off starting any new builds before 01jan14
Melchoir - thanks for your kind words! You scratch-built that two decades ago? Very well done!
waynec - thanks for your kind compliments! I still have another box of this, ordered by mistake thinking that I didn't have it yet just a few days after the first order. Still wonder whether it can be painted in other colors rather than desert yellow.
very nice build. not overly weathered. i have got to get me one of these
great work indeed ... here can be found mine as made two decades before :-) www.facebook.com/photo.php
Thanks for you kind comments, Kenny!

Clint - Thanks for your kind words!
Karl - You're just too humble. I'm sure you can do as good or better without any reference! Thanks for your kind compliments!
Again, I find this model much like the 1/16 scale Tiger. Another rush job. If the wheels are covered with that much mud, there should be some shown on the tracks as well. My opinion.
Monstrously cool, and a great weathering job on that monotone prototype finish! The photos will make a great reference point when I build mine! A really cool model--how big is it next to another model, for scale?
It reminds me of a mobile home with a huge cannon sticking out the bathroom, lol!
Art Instructor did a great job breaking up the mono color of them big slab sides. There is a few places with excess brush strokes but all in all a very nice effect
