Hi Tojo, Great pics you got there....the johnny depp/ capt jack figure belongs to a good friend of mine, Tattoo artist Julie Moon. did you see her geisha?  the tattoo work on her was hand painted...looked so real it was scary. You probably saw my Sherman there...it was right next to that 1/6 scale Sherman....kinda like momma and baby   lol. I too came home much lighter in the wallet, bought 3 kits and some AK products and a few tools I needed. looking forward to going next year....gonna try an entry in the challenge group....Tiny Tracks.  was looking at a Renault FT-17 ww1 tank. Met a lot of great folks there as well....maybe see you there

Armorcon is  hosted by the Northeast Military Modelers Association, a joint AMPS and IPMS club.  This is the same bunch of guys who hosted AMPSEast for many many years.  Their club name has just changed.  Many AMPS chapters also have IPMS standing.  There are several large IPMS shows where the host club ask the local AMPS group to oversee and adjudicate the AFV portion of the contest as well.  Cross-pollination is a good thing!

If you're near CT, know that the 3rd weekend of every September will host this show.  It's a standard with armor modelers in the northeast.

yes Southern California AMPS and Orange County IPMS are very close, sharing many members, including myself. SoCal AMPS will have a hand in OrangeCon this Saturday here.

Ok, I do recall hearing of AMPS East somewhere sometime... funny that it is an IPMS Chapter putting it on.

The Dana does not do much for me, but I do want to get ahold of the new Trumpeter MSTA-S and 2S3.

and there is a DANA on page 1. i am doing one in SPA GB. for you lanyard pullers (ps i has a 4.2 mortar platoon in a CSC back a few years ago), the painting instruections show what i presume are the aiming posts but they paint only the first one, which is pointy at the base, red and white as shown on the model. i would presume =LL of them would be red and white. this is a late 70s early 80s vehilce with soviet 152mm so i presumes pre GPS high tech stuff. i know it has been upgraded and the poles have some in afghanastan.
