Don

thank you kindly sir and good to see you back around here! Glad to hear there's helpful stuff for you in the articles, even if you don't always remember them. Wink

BeerJibber

glad you like how the /22 turned out and thank you for the kind words. Assembling the hulls on 251's is always a little bit of a challenge as everything has to line up just right with the floor pan and the hull top with the angled sides so they align they way you need to...only solution is lots of dry-fitting and strategic use of different elements to get it square. On Dragon kits the fact that the floor plate can shift a little bit from one side to the other is what usually causes alignment issues I've found.

Aces

sounds like you're off to a good start! Hope the article helps you out along the way. Yes

thanks much my friend! Wink

Bill I love your work, the 251/22 camo is awesome, so many of us (like me) darken it up when almost all photos I've seen shown a lighter almost Buff tone mixed in. The interior, pin wash, gun, tracks, wheels, every thing is real art. I mentioned the wheels because looking at pic 22(base coat) then again later in the finished photo I think it's fantastic.

Personally I've had some problems with 251's attaching the hulls to get it perfect I've always tacked it in place then taped it up, seems like the sides are not always straight?

Thanks and congrats….

Been away from the forums for a bit but I have noticed your print articles appearing more and more frequently.  Congrats for breaking into the "big time".  Big Smile  Always find a tip or two to file away for future builds.  Unfortunately, I'm at the age where I can't remember most of them when it comes time to apply.  Confused

May I ask what the themes of those GBs are going to be?

Ye, I have postponed that until 2015. Eagle and myself are putting together 2 GB's to mark the 70th Anniversary of the end of the war in Europe. They are both armour GB's but the time frame works well with the TD and N Africa builds.

Yeah, Bish planned an Halftrack build for next year, but postponed it because there are too many armor GBs running at the same time...

Bish didn't you say there will be a 251 GB sometime in the spring.

Thanks guys! Beer The 251/22 is one of my all-time favorite vehicle subjects and I had a lot of fun building it.

Bill's latest article

I got my latest issue of the mag today. As a huge 251 fan I had been looking forward to seeing the 251/22 article. But of course I hadn't realised it was by our very own Bill Plunk.

Another great build and another great article Bill. I will defiantly be keeping that one close to hand. And I hadn't realised that some /22's were converted from /9's.
