Thanks, guys!

Yes, I plan a fairly simple scene, with the M113 Fitters' rig I'm currently working on, nothing elaborate for sure.

Merry Christmas!

Finished until I get my M113 Fitter's rig far enough along that I can place the crew, tow cables, stowage etc.....

A few pics.

Thanks for looking, as always!

A little more work with the pigments to show today.

The whole thing got a coat of clear flat, then a re-application of pigments where I needed to show accumulation. Next will be stains, liquid where applicable, and exhaust soot. I will also polish the high-traffic areas, which will pretty much wrap this one up except for tracks and the antennae, both almost ready.

G, Thanks, that's kind of the look I'm going for.....

Okay, I've got the hull and turret dusted, using artist's pastel chalks ground into powder. Once the clear flat is on it'll get a little darker, but not much. Left to do: dust the wheels and sprockets, finish the tracks and add a little stowage. I'm going to hold off on crew until I gt  little better idea of how I'm going to display it. The plan now is to have it in a forward repair area, next to an M113 Fitter's vehicle which I'm starting next.

Enough with the wordy stuff, here's a couple of pics:

Very, very nice, even thought it was an abandoned tank or in a repair shop, until saw all the tools on the back...hahah...

looks just like any tank battered curently in the Syrian war.

Hello!

That painting is looking good! The colours are very nicely chosen. I also like the mix of cast and stamped road wheels! Looking forward to final assembly! Good luck and have a nice day

Well, bad weather in Texas means bench time for Rusty Baer!

Detail paint, decals and a wash all happened last Saturday, and I'm feeling pretty good about the look so far. A little dry pigment for a final dusting and I'll be done, I think. The pics:

I have to say that the detail on the Legends parts is very good. I would have loved to have seen the masters, as I can barely imagine the skill that went into their making. I only wish the casting quality was similar.

I can certainly understand that. I barely have time to do the basics these days, and modeling time is scarce beyond belief.

Looks like a lot of detail......  this will be nice!

Believe me, I can relate to not having time to do anything.......

Thanks, Ernest. My "workshop" is actually a closet in an area that used to be an open carport. Works OK, since when I'm not working I can close the door and not have to worry about "picking up".

Thanks gents.

I'm a straight coffee dude, no idea where the container came from, but it's full of MG parts now.

And paint:

I'm using Model Master SAC tan over Krylon automotive gray primer, all in rattle cans, pretty close match to what Legends think the color should be , I think.

Is that powdered Cappuccino that I see there?!?!?! Oh my dawd---I practically LIVED on that stuff a few years ago! Talk about addicting!!!!

Practically died on it is more like it. First ingredient- TRANS FAT. Anyways glad you now are in the care of a dietician, and well cared for no doubt.

Haha--no doubt, G! I deliberately weaned myself off of it---too much of a good thing is never good!

That is indeed an awesome model. I can imagine how hard it was to get good results from a bad detail kit. Nice work!

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Thanks for checking in, Pawel. It's in primer right now, waiting for it to harden up and then I'll get a pic or two up. I'm pleased.....  but getting anxious to get some color on. This one has been an ordeal.

Hello!

Lots of stuff on that machine! It's also unbelievable how much the Israelis modified those tanks. I wonder how it's going to look after painting. Good luck with your project, and have a nice day

What with a new job, dead laptop and total lack of time due to having a house up for sale, I've been remiss in posting what I've been up to. But I've figured out a Mac (sort of) so I'm gonna pop a couple of pics up. This is an old Tamiya or Academy M60A1 (I think) that I did OOB a few years ago and was never really happy with, so I took it down to the basic hull and started back with the Legends Magach6-MEM conversion. There were a LOT of unusable parts in the Legends kit, mostly short-shots, but a lot with horrible warpage too. I straightened some parts, and scratched others. Road wheels are Italeri (or Esci) and I have a set of Friuls mostly assembled. A few more bits and then paint. This has been the most difficult build I have ever undertaken, all because of the Legends parts. I think next the Academy Magach6 Gal-Batash is calling my name. Anyway, enough whining, the pics:

Thanks for looking, and comments always appreciated!
