nice looking build. not over weathered.

are the numbers on the turret suppose to be similar to the range clock numbers on dreadnoughts?

are they the kit tow cables or did you make them from something else to get the bend?

The numbers on the turret were meant to help out with calling fire directions while the tanks were still onboard their landing craft, during the run in to the beach. It won't surprise anyone that this turned out to be not much of a success. I don't know if this is similar to the dreadnoughts.

The cables came with the kit. Modern Tamiya kits, when they have these supplied, come with a nylon-like piece of string that responds well to liquid poly cement, so they can be glued down as desired.

Jay nice clean build and a great job with the decals. I agree with wayne that its not over weathered having just arrived for duty. It'll get dirty soon enough...

Great, classic look to that model. I'm not surprised to hear that the numbers didn't exactly work out.

Very nice work,I like your handling of the tracks.Light dusting looks good.I think the wheel rims are rubber ? looks like you painted them same as rim,not sure,just trying to give some thoughts to help.

Tojo, The rims are indeed rubber and I originally painted them a greyish black, but the bottom part of the tank received an overspray of an earthy brown, to simulate accumulated dust and dirt. This also covered up the wheels. When you see the model in real life, you can see a subtle difference between rubber and metal on the wheels, but it's pretty much impossible to see in the pics. I agree about the colour -  doubt we will ever know for certain if all British made vehicles were repainted in time for D-Day.

Color is perfect! gives it a steel greenish used look, and those numbers on the turre just brings it down to reality.

I can imagine the German gunners going "Vell, das ist quite handy, ze Britishers are nice enough to help us wiz  ze aiming of ze gun." That, or they figured they were being attacked by a gang of motorized range rulers...
