i had to look at old pics as i didn't remember my A2 having a bore evacuator but it did. the photograph of the museum tank looks like a 120 but the kit barrel does look like a 152.

btw who called the A2s starships? we never did. we just called it a new tank with a working heater.

It looks like the 152mm version to me. The Germans had both the 152mm and a couple with their 120mm for testing purposes.

pity it's the german one w/ the 120 instead of the us one w/ the 152 gun/missile system. that would be really cool since they ended up on M60A2s and i was in an A2 unit. still will put it on my list.

This is a Kpz-70, not MBT. The German version had several features taken from the Leopard 1, notably the IR light, infantry phone and smoke launchers plus many "German" parts common to all their AFV's. It also had a different engine and engine deck. Here are some pics I took at Munster this past October.

I saw this baby in Aberdeen's warehouses when I got a tour in the 80s. Freaking COOL. I wanted to build one THEN, I can't wait to get one NOW!!

As my AURORA kit disappeared during my last move and dealers at shows are demanding $60 for the AURORA kit.............if I decide I want to build an MBT 70, this is probably my only choice.......but I'll most likely purchase it 10 years from now at a swap meet..........

It is definitely the tank that first interested me in the armor field. Such a high tech, futuristic looking tank when I built the Aurora kit in the 70s. The oldest model kit I built as a child and still have in one piece. Definitely a must have for me.

You do notice that the box art is Bundeswehr and not US Army.... but if they do pull this one off... well the opening lines for the "Team America" theme song is running thru my mind at the moment...

I hope it isn't just vaporware to get people excited.  I will be impressed when I finally see it in plastic.  Still waiting on the M103 as well.  Both will be great Cold War collection additions.
