JohanT

Think I got it approximately right in the end, visible in front of the passenger is the holder for the VHF.

An attempt to scratch the R-123M

Thanks for looking!

Happy modelling 2014 :)

Johan, you're an artist/ modeler after my own heart with that heavy pre-shading paint That's very similar to how I paint mine, and I have rarely seen anyone else use that method. I can't wait to see what you do with this! The build itself was great, too!!

Thank you for your support as always Bill Big Smile,

Been relocated to KL and the compressor is still stuck in customs - somewhere...

NW, I am killing time with a BTR-80 I managed to get into the cabin luggage.

@ talentless - thank you for taking time and your comment - I am using magnifiers myself but will see if I can get a closeup when the gear arrives Cool.

Thank You
Johan

Very nice!

Those post shading black lines, opened my eyes on how to make the corners look darker!

I always did pre-shading.

Like to see how the color comes out.

Thank you Bill - I appreciate you taking your time and the kind comment :)

Here is a short update on the BTR-40 after the x-mas holidays,

I managed to loose the SG-43 gun and the decal sheet on my last trip so I am replacing the with this 12,7 Heavy M.G. DShK from Zvezda.

I have been struggeling a bit with aligning the hull parts since the build sequence suggests assembling everything arround the drive train.

Think I got it approximately right in the end, visible in front of the passenger is the holder for the VHF.

The Chaos Black primer went on with no problem - the green is a mix of XF-5 and XF-59.

An attempt to scratch the R-123M

Thanks for looking!

Happy modelling 2014 :)

Hi,

Making slow progress on this one. When dry fitting the hull parts I noticed that it was difficult to get the compartment floor, side walls and rear wall to square upp the way I wanted so I decided to bite the bullet and do them first.

Rubber band and Loctite SG did the trick - looks OK now.

A bit of filler will fill the gap...

I managed to break the fragile pedals while pushing the parts, will get them back with some brass wire.

The engine wont be visible with the hatches down but looks quite nice.

The steering wheel angle can be build adjustable Big Smile

Some close upp of the VHF Radio (The Images are from the site www.radista.info)

Will be fun Stick out tongue

Right,

Here are some sprueshots of the BTR-40 to go with SG43.

There are some extremly delicate parts but as you can see Trumpeter has protected the fine parts with separate foam wrapping.

The kit comes complete with engine but no radio - bit odd but I will scratch one.

Will try to get this one done before x-mas. Should be a fun and straightforward build.

Very Best Regards
Johan
