Federico, I'm one of your big fans--fantastic work on this vignette, to be sure. The tank is a work of Art, and it looks perfectly at home in its setting, as bizarre as it can seem to some.

I have to say that I was a little bit disturbed to see that you used salt for snow, however. In full disclosure, I started a thread about it in the "Diorama's" forum here, warning about using household things as "shortcuts" for modeling supplies. I, myself, and some of the commentators in that thread, have had some really bad experiences by doing this in the past, and the intent was to pass on the knowledge and send a warning about the potential consequences. Hope you don't feel singled out by it in an injurious way, and I hope that your beautiful model here does not suffer any adverse consequences in time. ;)

Hi Paul

This is a constant question he he, The color I used is Vallejo 71128, I think it´s the color that matches best the IDF modern tanks.

Federico, great work with the Merkava diorama! So, what color did you use to paint your Merkava? I have seen other Merkava colors ranging from Israeli grey to NATO green. Did you use airbrush, spray, or hand paint with brush?

Well that's something you don't see everyday!!  A Merkava in the snow!  VERY NICE build Federico!  I would have thought it was the real thing if you didn't include pics of the dio!!

OH WOW!, very nice!

The tank itself looks good, and with the background looks convincing...do you print out a poster? or do you use photoshop?

Hi Paweł

That´s what most people think, no snow in Israel but the thing is that it snows often in Jerusalem, and you can find some pics of Merkavas, Zeldas, etc in the snow. In fact, the pictures I used for the background are real Jerusalem ones.

Hello!

That's a very fine looking Merkava! And the way to photograph it is also very cool! But how come snow? I'd say that's a whole lot of snow for a desert, isn't it?

Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Paweł
