Sweet pics Doug, some real odd balls in that collection. I didn't know they had a Ferdinand and Sturmtiger there. And that Su 100 is a monster. I had never heard of it until I started playing WoT.

It seems that, for years after they captured the Maus, the Soviets went nuts trying to build monster tanks but then "settled" on the design that eventually became somewhat standardized---the T62-72 model. It's amazing to see the results of their experiments though!

One thing that really strikes you when you see a lot of Soviet armor is the crudeness with which the were fashioned. The steel is REALLY rough, the fittings really crude and simple. A far cry from the preciseness of the German panzers. The difference is really noticeable.

Thanks for all the comments, guys----I"m really happy to share these with you all. I hope to tackle that Obiekt 704 when it comes out. Word is that the manufacturers are turning their eyes toward some of the big Russian tanks now that they've pretty much exhausted the German catalog. Could be an exciting year!

Thanks, Mike--that jacket is a rare "Harley Davidson" long motorcycle jacket that I bought in 1996. I've never seen another one like it. I always get comments on it--it looks like a German officer's coat. I had to have it!
