Very cool idea. Now I know I'm going to be different with my t-34. If I get back to it. Love this one. Bob

Very neat idea. The scratch built " merry-go-round" looks scale. And the 'graffiti' resembles southern California styles Smile

Italeri M24 Chaffee build....a little something different.

Hey guys,

I've been slacking in posting up my builds lately, so I figured I'd better catch up. This is the Italeri 1/35 M24 Chaffee, in a little bit different setting. I'd seen pics of various memorials in Europe and the Middle East where old armor is used either as a memorial or sometimes even as playground equipment. I decided to create a little vignette, so after a relatively straightforward assembly, I decided that, yes, yellow would be a nice color. I hit the tank with a coat of yellow paint, then dressed it up with a few layers of graffiti in different colors. Unfortunately, the vinyl treads cracked and disintegrated after I had primed them (not knowing they are vulnerable to lacquer primers). When I made the base, I simply stuffed the tank into the ground, figuring the townspeople would have just done the same if they hadn't had tracks for it. After the tank was done, I went to work scratchbuilding a merry-go-round and a seesaw. I wanted to do a swingset and slide too, but there wasn't room. Finally, I hit the ground with some darker brown paint to simulate damp ground, and threw a dead tree on there. Anyway, nothing too serious. Just a fun little build and something different. Here's some pics:
