I think I need a shower after just looking at that muddy beast! Could you explain how you made the wet-looking, caked on mud? Looks great!
I made the base from plaster, then pushed tank into it before it dried. I then spread a Acrylic Gel Medium onto and in the tracks, road wheels and anywhere I wanted packed mud. While the medium was still wet I sprinkled on sifted dirt. I then pored the Acrylic Gloss Medium and Varnish where I wanted water puddles and under the tracks. While the "puddles were still wet, I mixed in dark brown to simulate a mud puddle. After everything was dry, I sprayed lighter and darker shades of brown where I wanted mud, this included the dirt I applied first. To simulate the wetness, I mixed the Acrylic Gloss Medium and Varnish with water and airbrushed the mixture to "wet" the mud. I also spread the grass at this time. Hope this answers your questions. VERY nice and involved project! If I can offer one observation -- always be mindful of the lines of site for the crew. If buttoned up, all they had were their periscopes. The sandbags on your tank's glacis are too high for either driver to use his periscopes. Just an FYI for future builds. Keep up the good work!

Good point. I was too busy getting the sandbags and weathering right to think about practical matters. I may have to look into removing a couple of sandbags to fix it.
Nice looking build there Steve. Its an easy thing to over look, but as Roy suggest, I would put it down to experience for next time.
