The M7A3 BFIST is complete.  It is lightly weathered so it doesn't look overly used.  Hope you like it.

(UUUUGG!! Just noticed the CITV got bumped (it's movable) and is crooked. I'll have to fix that.)

RBear - thanks for looking in on it.

Rob - This one is going to a new 1LT who crewed this vehicle.  I wanted it perfect for him.  As to the Brads, I love to build them.  I've built quite a few.  The new Meng ones are really nice.  I highly recommend getting one.

Lot of love going into this build. I have a love hate relationship with the Bradley. I've built four, the original Tamiya M2 and M3, the Tamiya M2A2 and an Academy M3. I've been debating on whether or not to spend money on the newer kits. I've been trying to limit myself to Cold War to Desert Storm era subjects; without much luck.

I've got no idea what all those acronyms mean, but it looks like you're doing an impressive amount of work here, Gino. You've put some really nice work up the past few days! :)

That looks awesome so far!

I'd love for meng to do a M2A0 1984 version.

I fully expect it will.  When it does, you can all thank me for it.  :^)

By the way, the BFIST is almost done. I should have some pics of it in a few days.

Thanks guys.  I expect Meng to announce their new M2A2 ODS right after I build mine.  You're welcome.

M7A3 BFIST - Academy & Meng kitbash
Posted by HeavyArty on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 3:19 PM
My latest work is another BFIST for a customer.  I had an idea to backdate one of the new Meng Bradleys back into an M2A2 ODS.  I started brainstorming on how to remove the added rooftop armor molded onto the Meng A3 kit roof.  I could ry to sand it all off; no.  I decided to swap out the rear hull roof between an Academy M2A2 OIF kit and the Meng M3A3.  I used the rest of the M3A3-specific parts on the Academy kit to make an M7A3 BFIST.  The tan plastic parts are from Meng, with the more yellow parts being Academy's. Here is the result. Here is the resultant Meng kit that will become an M2A2 ODS. The moral of the story -- Meng parts can be swapped with Tamiya and Academy parts with a little bit of tweaking.  So other versions can be made from them.  Now, of course, Meng will come out with an M2A2 ODS kit.
