Yes, the track walks right off the sprocket and running gear! I built most of the Tamiya kits that were motorized. The only time the tracks stayed on was when the tank had side skirts like the M113, Matilda, Centurion, Abrams etc. I loved all the old motorized kits when I was young. Still have quite a few of them, but the Sherman is the only one on display.

I don't remember if it was motorized or not, I don't usually build them that way if they are. I built a motorized Sherman once, but the tracks kept coming off the drive sprocket. Kinda like the Revell Visible V8 Engine I built once. The pistons keep getting stuck.

I like it, I have the exact same model inside one of my display cabinets. I believe I built it during the 1990s and was the motorized version.

20 year old Sherman E8

I found my old Sherman E8 I built 20 or more years ago, stored away in a box. I attached it to clear display case and has really aged well (I can't say the same for the clear cover).
This was my first attempt at dry brushing, and now looking at it, it seems a little too much, too stark. This was also my first attempt at making tarps, a process I still do today. I gave it a slight amount of battle damage, a glancing blow from some small caliber AT gun (lucky crew). You can see it just in front of the star on the left side hull.
