Panther F, production / finishing
Posted by ps1scw on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 10:50 AM

Hello, I was wondering which factory(s) were starting initial production on the Panther F? I understand that initially the narrow turret was to be placed on a G hull, is that correct? I was wondering the best way to paint my F, how were the immediately proceeding non-F Panthers painted so I will have a good starting point for my kit. Thank you all in advance.

Since there were no production Panther Fs, you can paint it in any manner you like. There were directives issued for solid Dark Green paint at the end of the war, but there are only a very few documented examples of the suspension/wheels being painted that way; I don't know of any full Dark Green vehicles. I think you're overthinking it here... :)

I would think that at that point in the war, the factory would be painting them with whatever stock they had left from earlier models, or had on order direct like the doog said. it's hard to say really. I wouldn't think there would be a wrong way about it though, so I'd say paint it in the schemes you like and color it the way you want to display it. Good luck!
