1/35 Flakpanzer V Coelian
Posted by udel09 on Sunday, November 30, 2014 1:56 PM
Just completed Cyber Hobby's Flak Panzer V Coelian. Build was pretty straightforward with only minor gaps to fill. The biggest downside to the kit was the two 3.7cm gun barrels- their detail was awful! I replaced these with a metal set. This being a paper panzer, I decided to apply the "Octopus" scheme as seen on a couple last production King Tigers. Painting was done with Tamiya Colors with wash, filters and pigments being MIG products. *Disclaimer: I painted the road wheels as if they were steel even though they are rubber rimmed, I just like the look of steel better. Comments and critiques are always welcome! photo IMG_05421.jpg photo IMG_05371.jpg photo IMG_05471.jpg photo IMG_05451.jpg

Really like the octopus camo on her. Gives a bit of character to her. Weathering is nicely done too.

Nice looking build and a great job on that scheme. Is this the same kit as the old Imperial series kit.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Oh wow, the cammo and details are so good. This forum just gets better and better builders, it is becoming very very hard to keep up with you guys.

Everybody is raising up the bar so high.

First time I see this kit.

Good job.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Bish- Cyber Hobby rereleased the old DML kit, but I am not sure if that DML kit was based off of the same molds as the imperial kit.

AN excellent job modelling and painting, but I have to be honest, the "steel" on the wheels really sticks my right in the eye. It would have been one thing to have substituted actual steel wheels from another kit, but it really doesn't do it for me to paint rubber in steel. It just looks bizarre to me..
