Very nice camo, looks fantastic.

Some equipment destined for tropical areas was painted in "Coronado Tan" at US factories for their British buyers.  I'm not sure if that included M3 Lees and Grants however.

Nice Grant. The old Tamiya kits can be very therapeutic.

Vallejo water-based putty works great too. Apply, then swipe the seam with a damp Q-tip and move on.

Thank you for kind comments, gentlemen . I guess it turned out better then I expected. Especially because there was a big gap that I had to fill "poor man's style" with a filler made of chalk, water and white glue. Can you find it on the model?

that turned out nice. as for white glue filling seams, i use it a lot, especially in tight places like fenders to hull. sometimes it takes a couple of passes as the white glue will shrink when drying  but you don't have to sand it.

Where there is chipping there is rust....but not too much

 Enamel Olive Drab was an incredibly tough paint since it was baked on in a special large oven. Primer wasn't really needed since the OD was so resilient. Now, with that being said, the desert camo could be "not too severely" chipped and would only reveal the O.D. underneath......  

                                 so, "not too horrible" eh?

 Anytime I build a WWII O.D. American tank, any chips applied are less than minimal.

now comes a point to ponder- the Grant was US made and as such I believe painted OD at the factory, then repainted in Desert Camo in Egypt once received by the Brits. I am willing to bet hatch interior faces were left OD and not repainted...

Which would give license to some chipping......

One suggestion: the inner faces of exposed hatches would be painted the same as the rest of the exterior -- the white paint would needlessly ruin any camouflage affect.  HTH
