I like that Tojo. How was it to build. I have been thinking about getting a couple of WW1 tanks for something a bit different. really like the look of that one.

Thanks Bish,Tamiya build was,well "Typical Tamiya" very nice,tracks are a real treat,workable and just click together.I even motorized it.The real challenge is the painting and weathering,you know bringing it to life.

That's nice to know. I would like to do one of these and an A7V, and the Tamiya seems a good choice for this one.

I have to say that I went with the Takom version of this tank when I read that Tamiya motorized their version. I mean,  who actually builds motorized tanks on these forums? Or in the modeling world, for that matter? Must be a Japan-market thing?

Karl, what do you make of the Takom kit. I read a review on PMMS and in general it was good I think the only issue being the tracks. Given that the two sell for the same price but the Takom doesn't have the motor option, I am wondering if there is more to their kit than Tamiya's.

Bish, I haven't built it yet, but the new issue of FSM says that the tracks are fiddly and time-consuming. If I were home, I'd take a second look at them and give you an appraisal, but I'm about 1,500 miles from home. :)  I do remember looking at it and thinking it was everything I could have hoped for. Their Object 704 that I just built was also a well-engineered kit.

Takom is supposed to have released an easier track kit, and FSM said it should be included in further releases, but I guess time will tell?

Karl, ye, I saw those tracks, but wasn't sure if it was just the kit tracks, maybe for use on other kits. And somehow I had missed that in FSM, will have to read through that. And thank you. I won't be buying a kit yet, but maybe later this year. Even though my interest is in WW2 German armour, I do think it would be nice to build a couple of tanks that started off the whole idea of armoured warfare.

I've been toying with the idea of building the Tamiya kit, partly so I could weather and rust all those rivets.....

It's being considered, have to wait until the kit price is under $1 per rivet.....

Great job...very well done. I recently added this kit to my stash as well. I'm a huge fan of Tamiya kits and had to have this one in my stash as well. Someday when I'm out of my German armor addiction I'll get to it.
