Hobbyboss Panther Ausf. D Bergepanther with Flak 3.7

Here is the Hobbyboss kit that I finished recently. Really enjoyable, but the tracks were mind numbing, having to cut off each guidehorn from the sprue, clean up, and then attach to each link. Built totally OOB. Other than the tedious tracks, I can't remember there being any other issues. I might get another and put either the new trumpeter 3.7 flakzwilling or a 2cm flakvierling on it.

Man, that looks superb!!! Nice faded finish and cool subdued paint!

I have the kit--it goes for insane prices on eBay, but I managed to score it for under $100 bucks. I'm sick now to hear about the tracks--really? Screw that--I may just pick up a set of Magic Tracks or some other Panther tracks for it and go with them. I know Tamiya has a rather nice set.For the life of me, I can't figure out why these model companies torture us with those indy guide horns nonsense. I mean, what's next--individual track pin bolts? (OH NO! I said it!!! Surprise)

Nice build there, really nice finish and I like the effects on the track guards.

Karl, not sure why its going for silly prices. Sprue Brothers has them for under 60bucks and in the UK they are still around for well under £40. But I do think I will have to get one sooner rather than later. Hearing good things about HB kits but still haven't got any in the stash.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

If you think these tracks are bad, you should give Riich models winterketten set a try for pure insanity. Like you said Karl, individual track pins, not only one, but one for each side.
