The "Eye-full" was used to observe Egyptian positions across the Suez Canal from behind the "safety" of the sand berms put in place on the Israeli side before the Yom Kippur War. It kind of makes me think of WW1-vintage or even American Civil War observation balloons. Sounds like a lovely job to have.

I'll pass on that job thanks. Got to hand it to the Israeli's, they certainly know how to get the most out of a Sherman.

The Israelis call it an Eyal (hoping you have a translation on that!). Used as an armored, mobile observation post.

Probably their "DOWN SOUTH" equivalent
