Since there 25.4 mm in 1 inch its close enough to 1/25th scale to be unnoticeable  with out a mic. It sure makes scratch building easier.

Thanks

OK Carl - I get it now. Sure would be cool to have some construction equipment to load on or show next to the truck models. 1 mm to the inch is a comfortable scale to model american eqipment! Good luck with your builds and have a nice day

1mm to the inch? Sounds like a railroad scale.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Pawel, the right scale for me is 1/24-1/25. I'm a bit of a scale bigot and scratch build my construction equipment at 1 mm to the inch.  Its possible that those cats could be reworked a bit to pass as D4's

Those things would be a great build if they were just made in the right scale

I have the Mirror Models 35851 1/35 US Army D7 7M Bulldozer, Generally available in the UK.

Not started, only fault I can see is that the instructions could be clearer to see, (but you can download from website) & there is so much of it in the box, it won't all go back in!

Hello!

I don't have any of those babies yet, but the detail looks fantastic. I plan to get one of the two not released yet and make a Vietnam-era Rome plow out of it. Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Caterpillar D7 tractor

Has anyone tackled the Caterpillar D7 tractor by Mirror Models or Miniart yet? Currently there appear to be a plain tractor and a cable lift bulldozer available from Mirror Models and a tractor with a large towing winch available from Miniart. There also are two armored tractors, two variations of the bulldozer and a tractor with a front mounted winch soon to be released. The two companies (if they are separate companies) appear to share the dies for the tractor as the pictures show identical sprues.

I got the Miniart tractor with towing winch and have only had a chance to open the box. The detail is fantastic with much of it hidden when the tractor is assembled. As an example there are 288 parts in the tracks alone.

I would like to hear the thoughts of anyone who has put one of these gems together.
