Tamiya Panther G
Posted by Sackgasse on Thursday, May 21, 2015 12:28 PM

Posted some progress off the build in a different thread but though that since the title is wrong I start a new one.

So here is where I was a week ago.

Here is where I am now:

Not entirelly happy with the initial application of the red brown and green, the worn metal on the inner wheel needs to be stripped off, to silvery.

But appart from that it is still good fun :)

Like where this is going Zack. I love Panther's and the late G is my favorite. I'm trying to repair my Dragon G that got damaged pretty badly. Good luck on yours.

I wouldn't worry about the rims. Once weathered they will be toned down.

This is one of my favorite tanks ever. Been working on my "A" forever. You're doing very, very well so far. You have nothing to stress about that I can see. Just keep going.  :)

Hi, Thank you for taking interest and for your comments!

The kit is 2500 Km away from me atm but I am planning for some progress in the weekend.

@ Karl, thanks - I would have stopped where I was without your support!

@ Tigerman, hope you can salvage and again, thank you for taking interest, much appreciated!

@ feldgrau23, thanks :)

@ Mike, I am getting carried away by this kit, I actually started off with the Academy T2 but when I realized the generation shift from the Panther I decided to do this one first.

Now I have the Dragon A as well and will probably do this in paralell with the T2.

I have read that the late (1944+) heavies where painted Olive Green and that brown and sand where applied depending on filed of action.

Is this correct?
