Still Missing Sprue
Posted by constructor on Monday, May 25, 2015 1:33 AM

I have written Mirror Models for the third time complaining of the missing sprue on my D7 Crawler but has nor heard from them. It's a pity. The model seem ok except for the terrible instruction sheets where the figures are in very dark grey not being able to see where the parts will be attached and the sprue where the parts (numbered) are scattered all over the sprues. I suspect that some parts or a part is missing. I hope they get in touch with me soon..

That's a sincere shame--have you tried asking them on their facebook page? The public shame may get them to act.

Which sprue is missing? I have this kit as well and now want to double check my kit too. There are a lot of sprues packed into that box

It's the sprue with the oil sump and the road wheel mounting bars and the big shock spring. The big sprues has no numbers.

That's the one! In contrast to model manufacturers who pay attention to missing parts attentively, Mirror Models is not answering my e-mails, just plain quiet! I hope modellers will read this complain so that they will think twice about buying their  (Mirror Models) models!

Almost always contact the seller.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Definitively contact the seller. A few months back I ordered a 1/48 Kitty Hawk F-94 from Squadron and the PE fret was missing from the factory sealed kit. I contacted Squadron and within 2 weeks I had my replacement fret.

A pleasant development. I have justreceived an e-mail from Mirror Model. It seems that I did not receive their earlier response to my e-mail. They have sent me a replacement part.

That is indeed great news! Good to hear that the manufacturer stepped up.

Good to hear that. Sometimes the wrong things end up in the Spam folder or the JunkMail folder
