These are what I found on line. This is the pre Osprey ECBA.

This is the Osprey. This appears to be Version 1. This is the only one I have worn, we got issued it for telic 6, 2006/7, just after it was brought out.

I believe this is the newer Mk IV.

This is the older Combat 95 shirt and trousers. Notice the chest pockets but none on the sleeve.

And C95 smock.

Deserts are the same cut, just thinner and different colour.

The new MTP. This pattern replaces both C95 and deserts. Notice on the shirt, on the right, no visible buttons, no chest pockets but pockets on the sleeve.

Helmets, this is the Mk 6.

This is the Mk 7. I never got one of these as I didn't deploy on ops after getting back from Afghan in early 09. The main visible difference is the higher front of the 7. According to Wiki, where I found this pic, this Marine is wearing Mk 3 Osprey.

Bish, do you have any photos of the various uniform types and armor that you mentioned that you can post on here?

Stik, sorry, I was a bt unclear before. I meant to ask if those figures on the box of the land Rover are included.

After I logged off I did wounder about the 3 crew figures in the MB set. They do appear to be wearing different kit but  couldn't quite see clearly enough. I managed to find a review with some close up's and it looks like the crew are wearing osprey version one. The older ECBA that we used earlier in Iraq had smaller plates and could not carry pouches. The crew figures also have pockets on the sleeves of their shirts which the older C95 and Desert combat's didn't have. And finally, they also look to be wearing the newer Mk 7 helmets, introduced in 2009, rather then the Mk 6 or 6A.

I hope you don't mind me pointing this out. At the end of the day, its up to you, but MB haven't really done their research on this.

.................And from somebody who grew up watching the old 1960s "Rat Patrol" series, it is nice to see a wheeled, light attack vehicle is available in kit form- and figures, too !.

First off, Happy Birthday, Stik! 

That is a nice present, and like you, I'm interested in the smaller patrol/attack vehicles too. 

Bish, the figure set is completely separate from the Land Rover. It is just tooled to fit on it. As you can see from the box front art, they actually show a Mk.19 up on the turret mount. But the rear box photography shows the Milan equipped Rover. Hobby Boss also makes another kit of the Land Rover with a M2 .50 cal instead of the Milan (and it cost a few bucks more at the same shop... puzzling unless there is some sort of extra ammo stowage racks also).  And they also do two US boxings, the RSOV (Rangers Special Operations Vehicle), one with a Mk.19 and one with a M2 .50.

All this British kit is completely unfamiliar to me so I will certainly take your word on the stuff. I examined the figures and the molding is really sweet, but there appear to be two different styles of body armor on these guys- the vehicle crew having one type and the grunts having a different style.

I hear ya about the Milan, I humped a Dragon (the US man portable ATGM that the Javelin replaced) a few times way back when. Thanks for the Bday wishes.

O, nice, will be watching this one. I spent 4 years in my Battalions MILAN Platoon, great weapon to fire, a real PITA to carry.

Unfortunately, I think MB may have got it completely wrong with those figures. MILAN was replaced by javelin in 2005. But those guys are wearing osprey body armour, Version 1 was not introduce until 2006. These figures are probably wearing Version 4, introduced in 2010.  And the new pattern combats, introduced in 2011, only come in one pattern, the old desert pattern is no longer used, and the new combats are completely different from the Combat 95's, which came in both desert and European camo.

Are those figures included with the Land Rover kit.

I will have a WIP thread for this one whenever I do build it. I love these "rat patrol" style gun jeeps & land rovers, etc.  from different eras.
