I'm Back....IDF M60A1

Built this over the holiday break....those of you "old timers" know that I don't do much allied armor, and even less contemporary stuff. This kit was in the stash for over ten years so.....Not up to my ususal standards but a good ice breaker after an 8 year hiatus. Trying to depict a very early IDF tank before the "Blazer" was standardized ( Beirut era).

The re-boxed Academy kit, OOB, (not up to modern slide mold standards) believe me I was in flash and sink mark hell. Used Vallejo and Tamiya acrylics with MiG pigments and some scratch building on the spare roadwheel etc. Iwata Micron worked great after 8 years of rest...LOL -Figure is a frankentanker with Tamiya and Dragon pieces. The only AM I used was the excellent AFV club M48/M60 track which I had stashed.

I was amazed that 90% of all my acrylic paint was still useable .......beein in storage for 8 - 10 years....

Just like riding a bicycle man. Your edge hasn't worn at all. Good to see you back at the bench. Great work on the 60! I love IDF subjects.

Excellent work!!! Very impressive. I would like to do an IDF subject myself soon. Whats the story of that gun carriage or artillery piece over to the side? (I am new to armor and the like) and its kid of hard to see off to the side in the pic. Loooks pretty cool itself as well from what I can see! Thanks! Rudy

The 8.8cm Flak 37 (an old Tamiya release) that I had built years ago, just on the bench for some cleaning and minor repair....did it with the Prime Mover back in 2006 I believe:

I'm still using most of my 20 + year old Tamiya and Pollyscale paints......

Wow. Just wow. I have a 1/35 Tamiya M-60 I am going to do in IDF markings. I won't be able to touch that beauty.
