I have often said that I would like to build Tamiya's KVII, but everytime I had money, there was always something else I wanted more.  This is a very interesting build; maybe it will inspire me!

You get more done waiting for paint to dry than I get done in a year!

Greg

Not sure which I like best, the fact that Bobby built a kit whilst in the middle of 3 others (I can barely handle one at once), or Gamera's translation.

Oh, yeah, the tank model ain't bad either.

Thank you sir!  LOL!  Yeah, this year seems to be the year of multiple builds.  So I won't tell you I did Testors 1/700 USS Ohio and Soviet Alfa sub...with VERY tiny TU-95 and 2 VERY tiny KA-25B's...not sure why they put those in there, but here they are.  Another quick build...while I was waiting for paint to dry.  Whistling

Gamera

Ohhhhhhhh nice Bobby!!!!!

Built one of these years ago as a practice kit for whitewash and yeah it's one you can slap together and paint over pretty much a single weekend.

I think the translation for the turret slogan is:

Censored the Censoreding Censored Censoreds and then Censored the Censoreding horses they Censoreding rode in on...

Though I may be off on a few words there. Stick out tongue

LOL!  OMG that is too funny!  Thanks for the great laugh!  Of course, everyone at work is looking at me now.  LOL!

Thank you!

Bish

Nice job on the KV Boddy, that thing is a beast.

Thank you sir!

Isn't she?!  Next to the T34, she does make it look small.  Other then the 2 wheels, it was a great kit.  Even the 2 piece barrel was a good fit.  All the pics I saw didn't show much weathering on the tanks, so I'm going to go light on this one.  Hoping to pick up some new weathering stuff at the show tomorrow!  Wink

Those KV2's were a beast. Those old Tamiya kits go together pretty fast but it should be fun to weather.

It was surprisingly quick!  I mean, there wasn't much too the real thing anyway, but the detail in what is in the kit on the exterior is very nice.  No interior, but you would not be able to see much anyway.  Just 2 hatches that open and hard to see in if they are open.  Not much for decals either.  Of course they didn't paint up their tanks much...except with the propaganda slogans.  Not sure what the decal really says.  LOL!  Huh?  The instructions say "For the Fatherland".  But you never know what they really say.  LOL!  Anyone read Russian?

I'm hoping to pick up some weathering stuff from Tamiya and Mig at the show tomorrow.  I think the KV-II would be a perfect test bed for some new techniques.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Thank you Sprue!  The writing is a decal.  That was the other thing about this kit.  It was so old (I buy a lot of kits at estate sales, so...) the decals were very fragile.  Didn't think I was going to get them to work, but they finally got on and with a lot of Micro Sol, they settled in.

It was a fun build.  Might have to look into some more Russian WWII tanks.  LOL!

That is a cool looking tank. Is the text on the turret a decal or hand painted? And like you said, that is weird to have short shot (wheels) in a Tamiya kit.

Tamiya KV-II..While I'm waiting for paint.

Like the title says, I was waiting for paint to come in for some of my other GB stuff and decided to do another armor kit!  I had my son pick one out for me and he picked the Tamiya KV-II (he thought it was cool the guy was standing on the tank.  LOL!).  It was a pretty simple build and went together very quickly.  There is no interior to speak of and only 2 hatches that even open.  I did a little weathering on the tank and just need to dirty up the tracks to finish her up.  I'm going to a model show this weekend and hope to grab some pigments and other weathering stuff to try out on the KV-II.  The figure needs to be painted and put in the hatch, but that will come later.  The instructions said to put an antenna on the tank, but all the reference pics I saw never showed one with an antenna, so I left it off.  I included a pic of the wheels.  If you can see it, I had two wheels that were deformed.  No big deal, you can't really see them when the tracks are on, but that threw me not having the Tamiya quality I have seen in the past.  Of course the date stamped on the hull was 1972!  So that might have something to do with it.  LOL!  Thanks for looking!

Here are a couple of comparison pics with my T34 for size.
