Panther Group Build Feeler with a difference.

The “my scale” mentality does have one particular aspect that has nothing to do with display space, no matter what the scale. That is continuity/consistency of a collection. Be it in whatever scale, it’s nice to have them all the same for comparison. I’ve built outside “my scale” a few times for a local club that I belong to. They were fun builds, and kits in those scales have come a long way since I standardized many years ago. Putting those outside the collection builds is not so much a space issue as much as a location issue. The one offs look out of place when displayed with the mainstream.

That aside, I like the idea of opening this up to any scale of Panther tank. A 1/16 or 1/25 kit in addition the usual suspects would be cool. And I’d be doing a “my scale” 1/35 Panther if I partake. Why? Because I don’t have one built currently in my 1/35 collection. But yes, I am interested. 

Hopefully the idea is to have people step both into and out of their comfort zone and to get members to pass on and learn new skills and techniques which will eventually make us all better at our hobby.

I am not adverse to members who want to do 1/72 and 1/48 but I would like them to have a bash at something bigger too and I am also considering the addition of the recent 1/16 Trumpeter Panther.

Really I would like to get people out of the "Not my scale" mentality. This is usually due to the amount of room available to display stuff (IMHO) and while my starter post stated 1/35 only I also asked for opinions and other options so we can make it any scale, but how about asking those who do it in say 1/72 to also build one in 1/48 or 1/35 and vice versa or one of each scale?

Why limit the scale to 1/35? There are guys here who build 1/72 and 1/48 as well.
