Field Gray??

Hiram,,, thats a good one I didn't even look at it that way!!! I chose that name because it was easy to remember not because I specialize in German armor or diaromas. Again Good catch.

I agree. Field Grey is actually more of "Field Green". LOL. Have used much of it in my latest project.

Am I the only one who finds this amusing? The first person to respond to a question on "field gray" is a gentleman named "feldgrau".

I've been having the same doubt about some of the other colors I've used. Like when I was to "rust" a piece of armor and it looks much different wet than when it's dry.

Yes it should look kinda green, i think this color is one of the hardest to get right but also the hardest to mess up! I have seen illustrations that show it almost slate blue to OD with a touch of grey so I figure if the bottle says field grey than field grey it must be!
I think a better name for the color would be grayish green.

Yeah its pretty close to green. I have an reproduction German M40 Tunic and the newer that it is the more of the green you will see. the more it fades tho the less green you will see. the more reenacting I do the more faded it gets. As I tell my son,, the only dumb question is the question un asked. Hope this helps.
