you ever finish that boat for your wife dwight?? if i remember right she wanted one done for the house right. you better make her happy or the madfuns for the trips to the hobbie shop might dry up soon. even tho i am not married remember if mama is happy, everyone is happy. but if you want to start one of the 4 go with the m4a3 jumbo. i really liked what you did with the super sherman for the group build. OK guys thanks for the inputs. This was a close one.

Firefly 6 votes
M-36 5 votes

Special mention:
a.) 1/72 Armor (Larry, I'll check the LHS if there are any 1/72 kits that would interest me, thanks for the tip.)
b.) M-32 Recovery Vehicle (I'll try my best on it Frosty)

So I guess I'll be working on the FIREFLY first (probably this weekend). But don't worry, I feel that the M-36 will be on its way soon, right Sherm?

Again, thanks all.

Ron P.:
that's so cool...
i started the Tamiya M3 Stuart over the weekend
as a kind of Memorial Day tribute thing,
then started wondering if i might b able 2 do some scratchbuilding 4 the interior.
that open tub looks pretty inviting, but i'm not experienced in 1/35
(one completed OOB Tamiya Walker Bulldog
& a Dragon BRDM-3 about half done... then i realized how much
shelf space 1/35 afvs take up ! )
then again, if i mess it up, i can always just button up the hatches
& no-one will ever know, rite ? Wink [;)]

I really liked the Fireflies from the group build. I'd probably go with that. Second choice would be the M36... gotta redo that back plate to the proper angle though.

Dwight, if you want suggestions apart from your current unbuilt pile, how about something in a different scale? Just for fun, and a nice quick build, how about one of the beautiful Revell AG 1/72nd scale kits, like the LeClerc? Or the Tamiya Kubelwagon or Kettenkrad in 1/48th?

I find that doing something in a different scale is a nice break, and also gets me reenergized to work on 1/35th scale stuff.

There's something in the works..........I may be able to break my Hellcat out of the box yet. FYI, there is talk of a forthcoming Battle of Bulge build and Operation Market Garden build within the Normandy Group build.

Gee Robert, I think even I could be coaxed into a Allied tank destroyer build. I like them a whole lot more than the garden variety Shermans. Build the Firefly then, Dwight, they're a good 'un!

Hmmm...there seems to be much interest in the Jackson here and the Firefly, too.

I wonder what Shermanfreak will say...

Probaby "ALL". LOL.

Go with the Jackson, don't think I have seen one built up around here yet that I remember anyway. Get to see plenty of Shermans and you know how there are limits to how manyRobert can see Big Smile [:D]

Wish I had your problem Dwight. My vote is for the Firefly. That is my favorite Sherman variant.

I would do either the firefly or the Jackson. Does the Jackson have an interior? That would push me towards the M-36.

Robert will indeed be proud!

No kit on the work bench...What should I build next?
Posted by Dwight Ta-ala on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 9:28 PM
Well, I have completed all my group build commitments (Towed Gun and Small AFV) and am doing nothing right now. Last night I was just trying to rearrange the completed ones in the display shelf and man I need more space.Big Smile [:D]

So basically...I am free to start something new but I don't have many in my stash:
(Others I have given to my nephew who is also starting to build models.)

1.) Dragon M4A4 Firefly VC
2.) Tamiya M4A3 Jumbo
3.) Academy M-36 Jackson
4.) Italeri Recovery Vehicle (for conversion to an ordinary M4)

Boy...I think I am sounding like Shermanfreak here...Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Hmmm any suggestions?

Of course there is that 1/82 Mayflower that I have not been able to complete yet.Black Eye [B)]Tongue [:P]
