1.) The tank was painted Olive Drab overall.
2.) Then I applied a white wash (thinned flat
white) with a wide soft brush with the bristles somewhat in disarray. This is to simulate the hasty white wash job done be crew on the field using mops, rags or just paintbrushes. I applied the white wash not totally covering the tank just randomly with strokes coming from the top going down. I also skipped areas where the crew aer likely to skip like turret undersides..etc.
3.) Then a minimal dark wash overall. Streaks are done with a fine brush.
4.) Then I drybrushed with lightened OD on some raised portions.
5.) Then I drybrushed with dirt colored paint on some areas most likely to get dirty easily.
I think there are other ways to do this type of finish but this is how I did mine.
