Wher's Anzio Annie when you need it?

Don't you just love it when they change the colour and direction of the gun on the box art, then give it another name, and sell it as a different gun kit! Okay so they added a vehicle instead of the crew.....sheez.... they could have just given you the one decal sheet with both versions.

That off my chest, they still look like something worth considering for the collection. Thanks Bill

Bill,
you had me going for a second!
(your post says 1/44 instead of 1/144)
i was thinking: they can't just invent a new armor scale!

then i took off my clown shoes and sat back & enjoyed!
i think they are too mall for me,
(a tiny giant mortar glued to each finger of one hand!)
but neat just the same

I've picked up that line of 1/144 for the kids...They have a lot more detail than you'd imagine. Zimm on the Sturmtiger, pretty good crane on the Bergetiger. E-100 is cool.
I wouldn't hesitate to get the rail gun, as a matter of fact.......Bill ya did it to me again!

Awww, how cute. They think they're big boys Big Smile [:D]
Interesting idea. I have to ask you guys honestly, just how seriously would you take something like this as a model? Seems like it'll pass more as a gaming piece or something.

As seriously as the detail on the kit warrants. I've seen some big, crude models and some tiny, exquisite models.

There's great potential for taking one of these Leos or Karls and making a magnificent diorama with it. Is there a model railroad scale equivalent to 1/144th? (Sorry but I'm pretty ignorant of model railroading.) If there is, just imagine what a cool diorama you could put together.

Ed, I stand chastised before you! Sorry for misleading you. I've edited the first post to fix it.

I've got a few of the first four of the series and I think they are pretty cool. I mean, it's not like putting a normal model together, but they are kind of fun and you do have to paint them! (And the vinyl running gear/wheels are their own challange!) And painting the road wheels is a real trip!!

rite on, Larry !
the closest model rr scale 2 1/144 is n-scale,
which is 1/160 (9mm track spacing= 4' 8.5") in the US.
i think the British get even closer, using 1/148 (IIRC) scale cars & locos
on the same gauge track (their rr equipment is smaller than ours,
so the slightly larger scale works better 4 them).
a bit of forced perspective between the rr elements & the military,
no big problem there...Big Smile [:D]

i too have got a 1/144 kit, good to see some new ones out. all jokes aside, how could you not lose the gun crew?!!! think how tiny they must be! does anyone know when/if dragon will come out with allied or russain tanks? someone could build a huge dio on a small space, but with just german tanks, wouldn't be much of one. n-scale is the closest to 1/144.

Bill,
no big deal. i am easily confused, but i catch up pretty quickly.
(besides, i typo'd 'small' for goodness sakes!)

Frosty,
nice catch on the N scale. i was hoping you would field that so i
would not have to look it up.
i was thinking that it was 1/2 HO, but it's not, exactly, is it?
because that would be 1/174.
so, to be technical, it's "a little bigger than 1/2 HO"
:-)

I noticed the "mall" comment, but chose discretion and didn't mention it!! lol

Hey you could always do kind of a "reverse American film" diorama and instead of having American tanks dressed up like German tanks you'd have German tanks dressed as Shermans!! lol
