Is that kit the Pzkpfw IV Ausf H/J (Academy #1328)? I ordered it from Greatmodels when they had their armor sale a couple of weeks ago (got it for $10.80 - not a bad price I guess). Wish I had known about the quality of before I bought it. Oh well, sounds like I have alot of work ahead of me.

Smile [:)] In my opinion, this kit of Academy is from regular to bad, I had some problems with it as: the upper rear are very short for adjusting the second part, in order to correct, both parts were filled with putty. Finally for reinforce the parts, I posted glue on the surface. Some faults as: hatches, rear hull, rear chassis, lateral pipes, muzzle of the gun barrel, skirts of the turret missing, etc., I know, this is a very old kit. But, with patience and time you can obtain a good result.

Academy's PzKpfw IV Ausf H is an older model that is no where near the quality of their newer offerings. Both of their versions of this kit are in fact copies of the old (really old) Tamiya kit. That's not to say that it can't be build into a fine model - it can. It's just not the same quality that you'll see it some of their new stuff.

I've built this kit before and it is not bad. It looks like what Tamiya had back in the early 1970's. If you can get it for $10-15 dollars, go for it. Other wise buy the Tamyia offering. It has the early large Muzzle break, and this needs careful work to make it OK, otherwise the build is fine.

I picked up one cheap too, but it is nowhere near Tamiya's offering. I have not built it (built the Tamiya instead) so I can't tell you about the fit, but just looking inside, it doesn't look to be the same quality as some of the other Academy kits (The Stuart and Tiger come to mind)
