I would LOVE for any injection manufacturer (by 'any' i mean Dragon, Academy, Tamiya or Trumpeter)Wink [;)] to come out with a 1/35 kit of the vehicle. Take it from me, Trumpeter's going to do it first, then Dragon, then Tamiya and then academy...Wink [;)]

Say, anyone know when this kit is coming out? It didn't say anything on the Tiger Models website.

Wow, after seeing that, I might just be convinced that the Stryker wasn't a complete waste. By the way, what're those dangly things underneath the 2nd ID vehicle above? Lookin forward to a kit of this beast. Tamiya, are you listening?

Wow, after seeing that I will shut anynone up who talks bad about the Stryker, I wasnt a believer myself but anything that w/stands a 500 Ib blast gets my approval , Im glad to see their keeping you boys safe over there, machines can be replaced but the life of a soldier can never be replaced, take care.

Regards, Jess

HAHA, I like it. Actually, it means Vehicle Based Improvise Explosive Device.... i.e. Big Car Bomb. Actually, forget it.... I like Very Big IED better!!

I think the other impressive part is that the thing could have driven away under its own power if it needed too!

It also seems that the slat armor (the cage thing) does a GREAT job of protecting the Stryker from RPGs. Its designed to cut the fuse of the rocket before it explodes. And if the rocket does explode the blast is deflected away because of the distance. When the kit comes out, it will be fun to scratch the slat armor from styrene.... a lot of styrene.

for a sec I was racking my brain trying to figure out what a VBIED was. Now I see the light. Very Big Improvised Explosive Device. I guess a little larger than your normal IED's... Smile [:)]

WHOA!!!! That's gotta hurt. I hope all the injured guys recover. That pic does show one thing about the Stryker. It is very well-built. To have something withstand the blast of 500 lbs of explosive and have everyone survive is a feat to be marveled at.

Check this picture out. I got it from a guy from Iraq. Read the e-mail caption and then check out the picture. This would make an "interesting" scratchbuild. From what I understand, no soldier has died inside a Stryker due to combat related incidents. That's a good thing, I'm heading out there in a little bit!!

"From one our guys on the streets, I guess people are going to have stop complaining about the Stryker. Its saving lives and making a difference on the streets, it pounces on the unexpected and sneaks up on the expected.

Here's a picture of our MGS Stryker that was hit by a VBIED two nights ago. The bomb had 500 pounds of demo in it. The Stryker was hit on the right side going about 40 miles a hour. The car with the bomb was on the side of the road and went off as the Stryker passed. The Stryker flipped over 1 and a half times and skidded about 30 feet. This bomb was so powerful that it knocked out lights in the rooms of soldiers on FOB freedom even though it was a mile and a half from the FOB. The best part of it all is that out of the 4 soldiers in the Stryker nobody was hurt, other than hearing bells for the next month or so and when the flipped the Stryker back over they could have drove it back in if not for some high ranking people on sight, but that's a different story."

I agree, resin kits that are the first of their kind on the market tend to be very expensive.

This would be a nice kit to see come out from one of the major kit producers so we all could afford it. Time will tell. Semper Fi, mike

Yes, the company is called Tiger Productions (not to be confused with Tiger Model Designs) or something similar to that. Do a search on www.missing-lynx.com and you should be able to find the original post. The owner showed pictures of the first kit and said more versions would be available for purchase at AMPS 2005.

1/35 Stryker LAV?
Posted by awan on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 5:23 PM
Isn't some small company coming out with a 1/35 resin Stryker (you know, that new LAV for the Army) sometime in December 2004? I saw it somewhere but I don't remember exactly where. Black Eye [B)]
