Mark,
Welcome to the family!
I've done a couple desert tanks, the last one being a Gulf War M-60. I used Celluclay as the base material. When I mixed it, I used Liquitex acrylics (just a few drops). I think I used a light tan. All their earth tones are great, but they are a high solids paint, so it doesn't take much. You can also use some of the model railroad ground cover colors to simulate a desert environment. If you are interested, do a search in the forum for celluclay. There's some more info there.
Once again, welcome

Guidance in creating a desert warrior diorama?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, July 31, 2003 5:29 PM
Hello, this is my first post, and i'm already after some help. I'm a serving soldier, and i enjoy painting armour and sci-fi kits(i hate the building part). My latest project is the 1:35 Warrior MCV from Academy, which i'm doing up-armoured and in a desert scheme. I want to do a good base but i'm not sure how to get a good effect. Any good hints/tips? Cheers gents.Wink [;)]
