A very cool build! I've picked this kit (and the Maus) up about a month ago, and was very pleased to see the detail on such a small scale.

You did a fine job on it, i realy like these 'whermacht 1946' kinda dio's

Doog, that is an outstanding little dio! Nice work! I am thoroughly iimpressed with the debris and damage on the building as well as the incredibly great ambush scheme and weathering on the tank! Way to go!

Now that is a beaut build and looks particularly realistic!

I do like the ruins and will need to source out similar here in australia.

I hope my recent addiction to 1:72 armour does not take over my love fore building winged things!

I'm actually considering a 1/48. I don't know why, something different I guess. However they're as expensive or mo so than any 1/35 I can get off of ebay. That doesn't make sense to me. I want an Elefant. Bandai's is ancient and they have rubberband tracks.

DisasterMaster and Tigerman, thanks for taking the time to respond, and for the comments! I agree that size doesn't matter!--some of the most amazing stuff I've ever seen has been done in small scale; remember that miniscule Tiger in FSM last year that was about the size of a matchbook?!? It kinda bums me out that 1/72 scale isn't taken very seriously, but I confess I feel the same way about 1/48!Whistling [:-^]

Having said this, I'll probably do my next 3-4 models in 1/35 scale... Wink [;)]

Your dios always have something intriguing to them. You have a natch for the base. I like the ruins and the weathering is great. Scale doesn't matter, it's the quality of the build.

Big Smile [:D] Sweet!

Thumbs Up [tup] It may be small but it is mighty. I'm not much for anything that isn't 1/35 but I have to give you due credit for this great looking little powerhouse.

Make a Toast [#toast] Lookin' good!

OK guys, here it is: the DML 1/72 DML E-100!

Of course, because it was only an unfinished prototype, I was free to be as "hypothetical" as I wanted! I depicted it without the massive "schurzen" because I figured that, if the war had gdragged on a few more months and the E-100 had been deployed to defend a "fortress city" (Berlin?), it would have been close to impossible to negotiate the streets with the added width of those huge sideskirts. I could almost hear the TC cursing the impracticality of the Fuhrer's latest over-design! In any case, I figured the 120mm side armor (40mm MORE than the King Tiger!) would've been adequate to convince they crew that scrapping the big sideskirts would be worth the added mobility. here's the pics!

It's just a wee-bitty thing!

The figures are an old Hasegawa molding of early infantry  so they have been modified with putty to give them late SS uniforms: i.e., putty on the legs to cover their jackboots...Note the  dude laying next to the church corner with the  "panzershreck"!  The guy in the church is throwing a stick grenade,,,

The church ruin is from Baseline Hobbies out of MIneola NY; I'm not sure if it's still available. It  was finished as per my photos from my recent European trip, finished in acrylics and weathered in pastels The wood is toothpicks, and assorted railroad rubble...

The E-100 was finished in a base coat of Polly Scale #414293 zinc chromate primer from their model railroad colors line, with diluted Tamiya Dk Yellow and lightened Pz Grey masked with silly putty...washed with a raw umber/ white oils, then MIG powders (European dust) used...tracks in craft store acrylics of various shades, and pastel rust shades...

Well, I know a lot of you guys aren't into the small scale stuff, but I hope ya enjoy the dio...comments, questions and criticism are always appreciated and welcomed! Now, on to that AFV Club M40 "Big Foot" !
