As Close as I'll Get...
Posted by pordoi on Saturday, October 11, 2014 6:42 PM

Cool cars...., will I ever get to sit behind the wheel of one?  ... unlikely.  Can I afford one?   No way!!....,   unless we're talking kits in 1:24 and/or 1:12 scale.  And even then, the Tamiya 1:12 kits can cost a pretty penny (actually, many pretty pennies...).  So this will probably be as close as I'll ever get.  First off, the Tamiya 1:12 version of the Porsche Carrera in black...

And the LaFerrari, of which only 499 were made...  This is the 1:24 Tamiya kit...

Constructive comments/criticisms are welcomed.  Thanks.

Yeah, but you should have seen the look on my insurance agent's face when I told her that I had a Porsche and a Ferrari in the basement....  Surprise

It would be fun to tell this insurance agent that I have a mid-60s-vintage Rolls Royce and a tornado chase vehicle in my apartment.Big Smile

Really nice, Auto Show finishes on those cars. Big Smile

A shame no one makes realistic scale "models" to pose with the cars and an equally realistic scale audience to drool over the cars.

... well, she eventually came to grips with the Porsche and Ferrari, but was really stumped when I mentioned the M1 Abrams... Tongue Tied

Thanks to everyone for all the comments.  I had thought this thread was dead, but it was resurrected on Halloween eve,... how appropriate.

Both the 1/12 and 1/24 are very nice models.  Have fun with your build and please post some photos as you progress.  Have you decided on a paint scheme yet?
