BULLET-RIDDLED, WEATHERED GANGSTER CARS
Posted by CHICOGUY on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 1:53 PM

What is a good technique for turning an out-of-the-box car into a well-used, shoot-out damaged vehicle?  I'm doing a diorama of two Chicago gangster (Capone) vehicles -- like that bullet-riddled, dented, scratched-up condition these cars suffered.

Da Boss is gonna hear bout dis...

Thanks!

Chico, if you can wait until the Finescale Modeler November issue, my beat-up, weathered '56 Chevy Nomad will be in it with a full explanation of the techniques used.

Also see the "Armor" section for weathering/aging techniques!

I was just at the LHS and there was one 30's period car withat least decals, I think, to replicate bullet holes. Here's a link to a real car that was shot up, specifically, the Bonnie and Clyde car.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
