Faster than your average rat rod
Posted by Jantrix on Saturday, October 11, 2008 2:05 AM

Hi guys, this is my latest completed build. And only my second of this year sadly. It was a stalled WIP until I was looking at my stash looking for something to rat up. The kit was called the Rat Packer so I took that as a sign and the rest is styrene history. It was about half done with a bright red Duplicolor paint job. I couldn't come up with any ideas for graphics at the time so back on the shelf it went. I roughed up the red with some wet sanding with 600 grit. Painted over with some Krylon semi-gloss black. Used the same 600 grit to distress the black a bit. The side graphics and the rat skull/crossbones were both done with hand cut stencils, and some Krylon flat white. Decals and some dull coat to finish it up. The injector stacks are aluminum tubing and aside from that it's pretty much box stock. It was a lot of fun and I knocked it out in a few days. Hope you like it.

Nice looking car, Rob--the aluminum stacks are eye-catching!

Sharp job on those graphics, too!
