What is the best stuff to use that replicates road grime besides Tamiya weathering sets? I have Rub 'N' Buff for worn off paint on the frame. |

You can go with oil paint washes, like we use in Armor, or use MIG Weathering Powders. Or you use just ordinary pastel powders. Brush them on and fix them in place with clear regular mineral spirits if you're using acrylic paints. They WILL be subject to damage however if you handle the model much.
Also, you can just use drybrushing or streaking techniques as used by armor modelers using whatever kind of paint. Dilute the paint and dab or streak it on.
