Ferrari for Friday
Posted by Matthew Usher on Friday, November 14, 2008 2:45 PM

Here's one I recently finished - Revell Germany's Ferrari 348ts.

I wanted to do a color other than red, like yellow or white. The body's molded in red, though, so I decided to go to the other end of the spectrum and paint it dark blue.

I hope you like it!

WOW, Matt--that's Beautiful in Blue!

That's a nice change from what we normally see. Was this a "review" build for FSM or SA?

Thanks, Doog!

It's actually a review build for Scale Auto. They're right down the hall from our offices at FSM; very handy for when I need to build something glossy. In fact, my next project (a Porsche) is a feature for them.

Matt - You should use the " Doog's" Hairspray technique to build that Porsche as the old "Im gonna Fix it Up Someday"  car ! Wink [;)]

Fantasic build, nice to see you stopping in and posting Thumbs Up [tup]

Oh my.

A Ferrari not in red! At least the Tifosi won't recognize it as a Ferrari so you may be safe.

Exactly. And I made sure it wasn't Subaru Blue, so I wouldn't offend my WRX!

Matt,

what Porsche are you planning on working on for your next project.  Would really like to see a GT 3.

That's very nice! What paint did you use? And how did the kit go together?

Looks good.  Bigger/higher resoltion photo would be better though.  Especially if you can post the raw format.  I have to confess though the reason I want the RAW format is to make it easier to change the colors in lightroom and photoshop so I can see what color to paint my next Ferarri build.  It's been a long time and I'm getting a hankerin for a Ferarri.  I can get perfect reference too.  One of the guys in the local model club I belong to also belongs to a Ferarri owners club.  They have invited the model club to thenext meet too.  GRIN!!!

You know, I really should build one of those -- there are so many cool schemes to work with, and I know the kit is really nice. I did Tamiya's Porsche 956 Le Mans car, it's finished and is in the "Canon-sponsored Porsche, etc." thread.
