Been wainting on this for almost fifty years. Thanks Gator.

My brother Gator showed up with an early birthday present last night and, as usual, he hit it out of the park.

Well, maybe I haven't wanted a '57 sedan for that long because I was still building airplanes back in 1960 when "Thunder in Carolina" came out but I have wanted to do a car from the movie for a long time. If you count the time I've waited for my tool master '57 post I built for Racing Collectibles to come back from the Orient then it is a lot closer to fifty though. LOL

Now that I finally got me a '57 with a post, the first thing I'm gonna do is...........

...........................................................

............................................................

..................................................................

......................................................................

.......................................................................

.....................................................................

...............WHACK THAT SUCKER OUT'A THERE!!!!!

Anybody have any plans to do the decals for this car? If not then what color do you think the chrome trim area is painted?  Gator said, "Just do the primer version". It is pretty evil looking.

YIPPEEE Mitch Cooper here I come!

A little off topic, but I've wondered this for some time...what was the offical name of the 57 Chevy?  That is all you ever hear them referred to by.  I know it had to be named something.

Doolan-I can't wait to see your build on the '57 Chevy.  Please post progress pics.

Belair is just a trim level, there was also a 150, 210, Delray. I don't know exactly what the differences were, but I'm pretty sure the Belair was the high end all the extra goodies version.

Only one guy I know with a brother named 'Gator"!

If it's anything like your other builds, I'm sure you'll have no trouble hitting this one out of the ballpark.

I almost NEVER prime a car but I think for this one I'll have to do it first in red primer like the rebuilt wreck in the middle part of the movie and shoot lots of pics with the tracks and shop before it gets the blue and white final paint job.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't th Del Ray the one with the more trim? I built one fo rmy girlfriend's mom to mirror their real one and it had a lot of silver trim down the side..

Apparently.  Google says Del Ray was an upgrade trim level for the 210.
