Awesome, James! I absolutely love the subtle tonal shifts between the colors you use!

for metal colors unfortunately metalizer paints aren't available in Canada. so i either use krylon aluminum spray. or humbrol metal cote. (which I used on the valve covers) and it can be buffed . also good old pencil lead adds some depth to them.

i would use alclad but there like 12 bucks a jar.. lol compared to 1$ for the humbrol ;)

James,

Thank you sincerely, sir, for the quick answer, and for the tip!

Well, that's actually a relief, as I know that the price and trickiness ofworking with ALCLAD paints can be a bit daunting!

Krylon, eh? I can get that here too! Looks like I"m off to the store tomorrow! I'll look into that Humbrol paint, too!

Thanks, my friend! I appreciate it greatly! Big Smile [:D]

James, I have to say, I admire your Auto modeling more than anyone I can think of--your builds are the absolute pinnacle of Auto Modeling in my opinion. Bow [bow] Just simply superb,  and awe-inspiring, man! Everycolor and hue you choose is just perfect for the part, no matter what it is.

Can I ask you this? How do you paint the metal parts of your engine there, and that gas tank? Are you using some kind of metallizer paint? Can you give me a clue? I'd like to get that effect/look on a few cleaner builds--I'm looking at a '71 Road Runner maybe, or a rare Javelin I just scored--and would like to get s similar finish. Smile [:)]

Again, just beautiful! Thumbs Up [tup]

VERY nice build.  Don't see many people doing these in brown, but I think it looks great.  Can't wait to see this one finished.  I'm almost done with my 69 Yenko.

Wow, I drove a 70 split bumper, 3 speed from Saint Louis to Charlestown in about 1984.  It looked just like that.

James - Superb work, being the former owner of several of these old F-bodies you are really nailing the details. The paint has a really deep look to it and its also a Fantastic color Thumbs Up [tup]

Nice to see you using the 5 spoke wheels also.

Are you going to strip the bumpers and repaint or use Bare Metal ?

Not that it matters but the 70 -72 gauge clusters were black. I don't think the wood style came out till '76

the chrome plating on the bumper looks pretty good i'll probably leave it.

i found some pics of a 70 camaro for reference it had the wood grain on it. plus it makes it stand out in the model better lol

wheels and tires.
they came molded orange not chrome plated... so i had to use BMF to make the outer edges chrome and I painted the centers black.

re-scribed all the panel lines.

basic engine stuck together

I went with a metallic brown for the color

added some BMF

did a bit of interior painting
