Geez, Robert, that's some genuinely fine work! It looks the part of a well-used, high miler!

The dusty appearance is great, and the rusted-out sides and dents all go a long way to making this a great-looking build!

You're no "slouch" builder! Nice work!

Thanks, Bob; I saw that you checked it out--thanks for looking in!

Can you post larger photos? Your car looks nicely done, it's just hard to see any detail.

And you CAN do that kind of work--that's why I posted the WIP with all the steps! Just follow along, and try them yourself! Get yourself some hair spray and go to town on an old body until you get the hang of it!

Ya know, from what I can see in the teeny-tiny pictures, you've built it as a beater, so the hood not-closing all the way doesn't bother me at all. If you look at my Impala build, the real car had the same "problem"....

I wish you'd post some larger photos though?!

Sorry for the slow response...It seem that the hood hits the hood latch. The car went togeather very well everything fit well throught  the build that was why I was suprised with the hood...I posted some pic's below ..Please check them out..

Having toyed with a few real-life hotrods in the day, here's a trick to see if the hood hits the air cleaner. Take a very small piece o silly putty ,play-doh,or something like that.roll into a very small ball,I would say smaller than a pea.place onto the aircleaner at it's highest point and then gentilly close the hood as far as it will go.Point being that if the puttyis pressed flat and the hood wo'nt close you've found the culprit! Works 9 out of 10 times.

The Good Agent is asking all the right questions. I bet the air cleaner is in the way.

Most kits don't have a 'real' working hinge, just tabs to hold it in the fenders in case you want to prop the hood open.

And don't mind G's sense of humor, it's warped! Big Smile

So long folks!

69 nova help .... PLEASE
Posted by Robert92562 on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 5:13 PM

I'm working on a Revell 69 nova....I posted this on another site and got 75 view's not one response....????

The Problem... The hood does'nt seem to close completely....It looks like it hits the cross brace of the hood latch...also the hood hing's have nothing to hook on to....They just slide in next to the fenders?  Can some one please help... did I miss something while building it ? I will post some pic's when I'm happy with the hood.

thanks

bob
