It's not that old. I bought it earlier this year (around March) and it's one of the tubs with a "free" applicator pad/sponge/thingy.

I got it from the local Win-Dixie store for $2.99

How old is your leftover Turtlewax?  If you used it on the van and truck six or seven years ago, toss it.

Yep!!!

I use Turtle Wax for my 1/1 and mostly of the kits... I use the one that is creamy, and came in a bottle, works great! :)

Some Monogram kit, like the Camaro in 1/8, has included some Turtle wax for polish the model a the end.

Be absolutely sure you are otherwise complete with the model.  You cannot paint over wax, so if you need to put any further paint on it is very difficult.  Wax is hard to remove completely, and some dewaxers may be hard on decals.  And, some auto waxes contain silicone which is virtually impossible to completely remove.

That being said, I have used waxes as a final finish step, including Turtle Wax.  There are also some waxes (just wax, no polish) made specially for models- not sure of the advantages.  I have also used furniture wax/polish.

Turtle wax?

I have herd in some older on-line articles that non-abrasive automotive wax (like Turtle Wax) can be used to buff the paint on a model car, as well as the windshield, to bring out a realistic shine to them.

Will this work with regular Turtle wax? I have a tub of it sitting in a cabnet when I (foolishly) tried to buff out a dull spot on my mother's van, and (even more foolishly) tried to wax my whole truck with it. I'd rather not let it go to waist, and I am hoping that it will work, so I can use it up.

Any help would be appretiated (and, if you have photos of your completed work after waxing, I would like to see it,too) Thanks in advance
