Thank you all for the nice comments.

Doog, I cut the tire down with a razor knife, a little at a time untill I got what I felt was the right height and then heated it up just enough that a little pressure would put a bulge on the tire.

I'm not going to add a flat coat the truck. Where it sit's on my shelf to me it looks just right.

I'm a dedicated lover and modeler of old derelict cars! I LOVE IT!

How did you flatten the wheel in the back? It's a pretty good effect, and not one that is often done convincingly. I think it looks really good.

Be careful adding flat coat if you've added any kind of pigments or pastels on it--a lacquer flat coat will make a lot of that just disappear. You could ruin the whole effect. My advice--don't.

Your tires and rims are exquisite!  Really like the overall effect.  Keep up the good work.

In person the glass dosen't appear that red, but I will add some brown. I also my tone down the weathering effect with a coat of flat. In the photos it looks to bright.

i really like your realistic looking weathering and it looks like a perfect candidate for a diorama. i have one issue though, that is glass doesn't rust (you seem to have rust colored dust on the windows). unless it's in outback australia, the dust might need to be a more brown color?

That's a pretty sweet lookin' truck you've got there, Robbo. You Censoreded it up nicelyWink. Not sure if it was the look you were going for but some of the light rust effects are a bit horizontally streaky. Vertical ones would be better to simulate rain streaks.

Got any pics of the tray and undercarriage?

At the end of the day one's work may be completed but one's education never!

I'm not sure why the photos posted as thumbnails. Any help would be appreciated.

Please check out my 1950 Ford F-150. I tried to copy a real truck that parked on private property on a back road here in South Carloina. I hope it will be in a diorama someday but for now its going to have to wait.

Comments always welcomed.

Thanks
