Well, the film was good, but not great, let's be honest. But my god that Skyline GTR is nice. Then I bought a copy of the great Need For Speed: Underground (I enjoy video games) and there it was again. Si I thought it was about time I made a Skyline myself.
Thing is, I want to do it in the style of the one seen in 2 Fast 2 Furious (see pic below...hopefully).
Only one problem really. You can't get the model with thos decals, and you can't buy those decals aftermarket either. The colour and bonnet stripes are fine, as should be any extra internal detailing such as the NOS system, but what about the manufacturer decals on the bonnet and the damn stripe/bar things on the side? Basically, I need a way of making my own decals, or I need to find a way of painting those damn mini-stripe-bar things on the side nice and accurately, which frankly, on a 1/24 scale car, is going to be damn near impossible.
The model I'm hoping to base it on can (hopefully) be seen below. It's a nice-looking Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline GTR. Just the stock version, not the racing version, to keep it ice and accurate to the film (as accurate as possible anyway).
The other thing I might end up doing is trying to source some tiny blue cold cathode tube lights, which with some engineering, I might just be able to fit underneath the side-skirts, and then wire up to a power supply somewhere to give working underside neon lighting. Then again, I don't know if they make cold cathodes small enough., but heck, it's a thought.
So...any ideas how to start this mammoth project...?
