Looks great all around.  Weathering is definitely on the money.  Don may be right about the trailer though, as I seem to remember more than one wooden ramp being kicked out from underneath these cars while loading and unloading.  Still, it works for me.

Since I've got two of the people (JT & Don) whom I would consider to be knowledgeable on  '60's race cars, would the Essex Wire Shelby Cobra (1965-1967) have been equipped with lap belts?  I'm fairly sure that there were no shoulder harnesses at that time (and based on pictures) but I've not been able to find any interior shots.

Thanks in advance.

This was a transition time, and there may or may not have been shoulder belts.  I am more familiar with oval track racing, though I was in a sports car club from 1952 to 1956 and again in early sixties.  Saw virtually no shoulder belts in sports cars in fifties.  But the oval track guys, especially midgets, started out with a single diagonal belt that was as much to hold them upright in car as for safety during late fifties.  By mid sixties the shoulder harness was pretty common in midgets, but here and there in sports cars as I remember.

Very nice work James.  I may have to add that kit to my stash.

Keep the pics coming.

James-I would have to agree.  The pics I was looking at must have been from the earlier years of the cars history....or I'm blind...

Now to scratch build some belts....

Very nice start JT-looking forward to seeing the Midget.  I always enjoy seeing a well-worn example of a racer "back in the day".

But not too far back in the day.  The trailer provided with that kit duplicates the trailer upon which the actual Edelbrock car is displayed in the company museum.  Unfortunately, while the car in the museum is authentic, the trailer is from a later period than the car.  The ramps need to be either eliminated or modified, and the spare tire post needs to be replaced.  The car displayed on a trailer is, however, representative of what is seen in vintage racing events- those trailers are popular with the vintage crowd even if they are a later vintage than a KK Ford.
