The legs are built from Aluminum tube purchased from my local hobby shop. The legs are detailed with small triangles of plastic card cut from some Evergreen plastic stock also purchased at my local hobby shop. The legs are assembled with superglue and the details are attached with it as well. The LEDs are 1.8mm red and 3mm red purchased off e-bay. I have some AD&D undead painted up and the Pumpkin Head guy will be incorporated into the diorama and act as the main power switch. This is powered by a 9 volt battery housed inside the base and accessed from the bottom.

Very Cool! My wife would hate it! Yes

Yup - she hated it and she smacked me for showing her too. She's a whee bit arachnophobic. Indifferent

That's pretty slick!  I like the red "eyes".

That's really cool!

I made something of the same sort from a Sherman tank turret, and called it "Spank"! I used to hang it in a dark corner of my old apartment where I always had a problem with spiders putting webs up in the corner. Once I hung it up, I never saw another web in that corner! It must have scared the dickens out of them?

Very inventive!

This is the 1/48 Tamiya VW Beetle with a dash of inspiration from the Nevada desert Spider Beetles.

Here is the chassis with LEDs and fiber optics laid in place.

Here it is with an initial lighting test

Four legs in place and being sized for the diorama base

Legs are in place and a final light test before heading back to work on the base.
